March My Envy Box

I received the March my envy box 2 weeks back. Sorry for the delayed post but life has been really busy. I had paid in February end but received the box mid March. I will not pay before the 15th of the month now.

This time it was a white box. I like the packaging... so much better than the cheap pouches of Fabbag.

This is what it included:

A Narciso Rodriguez perfume sample. There are 2 postcards with a sticker of the perfume. You have to peel off the sticker and rub it where ever the perfume needs to be applied. Weird!!! It took me time to figure out. I prefer a sample size of the perfume instead. This is too cheap.

Rene Furterer color enhancing conditioner. Feb box had a shampoo and this one has a conditioner. The card mentions shampoo though. This is a premium brand by Modi Revlon and sold in salons. The conditioner is pretty decent and the sample will last atleast 5-10 uses.

Eau Thermale Avene sunscreen with SPF50. A much needed product now that summer has started here. I haven't opened it yet but it has water like consistency which is quite good considering the high SPF.

Eminence Organics moisturizer. I have used this a few times, the consistency is very thick but it is recommended that it be emulsified with a little water to make it lighter in texture. There is a slight fragrance of cherry which is not over-powering. Feb box had a chocolate mask. I am liking this brand... I guess, for THAT price the products have to be good.

Innisfree pore clay mask. I came across Innisfree store at Khan Market and they have some good products. I wanted to try out their mask, pot rouge, nail paints (Rs 300) and maybe a shower gel but there was no time. Next time... I am glad Envy Box has sent samples of this. This product caught my eye at the store.

Except for the perfume, I am happy with other samples and will definitely purchase the April box.

My 1st envy box

After reading many reviews I subscribed for the 'Envy Box'. It is the same concept as Vellvette/Fabbag but at Rs 850 and the brands are more premium.

I received it in 2 days... awesome.

The products came in a nice box with a magnetic lid.

This is what I received:
- Givenchy Dahlia Noir perfume 1 ml (full size- Rs 4745 for 50 ml)
- Givenchy Gentlemen only perfume 1 ml (full size- Rs 4110 for 50 ml)
- Forest Essentials rose petal lip balm 5 gm (Rs 595)
- Thalgo collagen cream 2 bottles of 2 ml each (full size Rs 2400 for 50 ml)
- Rene Furterer shampoo 15 ml (full size- Rs 1320 for 150 ml)
- Eminence Organics chocolate mousse mask (full size- Rs 4393 for 60 ml)

Overall, I really like it... luxury brands... good sample sizes... well packed... a premium look and feel (which fab bag has clearly lost).
I am going to subscribe it every month.

January Fab Bag

Vellvette is now fab bag and I received the January bag on Saturday. Yes!!! That late. What I have started doing is... I order the bag once I read the reviews... and if I like the products being sent. I paid for it on 31st Jan and received it 15 days later.

It came in a tacky pink colored bad quality bag. I am going to throw it away.

The products:

- Nyassa Alphonso Body butter: 50 gm. Rs 300 approx. Price of full size (100 ml) is Rs 600.
- Naked potion lotion: Rs 310 for 30 gm. Price of full size (200 gm) is Rs 1300.  Shelf life is only 3 months
- I love... Strawberry face mask 2 sachets 15 ml each: Price of full size (3 sachets of 15 ml each) is Rs 450
- NYX diamond sparkling red lipstick full size: Rs 600

My current body moisturiser is not suitable for winter and I wanted to buy a body butter. I am happy with this product. It smells fabulous... just like Alphonso mangoes... and is very moisturising. But it is expensive... Body Shop body butter costs around 1000 bucks for 200 ml and this is Rs 600 for 100 ml.

I was excited to receive the mask and used 1 sachet today. It is very thick and difficult to apply. It is very sticky too. It took a lot of time to dry. Well, atleast I got to try something new.

Naked is a brand launched by supermodel Lisa Haydon. I am looking forward to trying this out... even though it is expensive. This product does not have any preservatives. The only problem is I need to store it in the fridge... and the shelf life is only 3 months.

I hate this product. I love NYX and its products. But why has the team sent a full size of a shimmery shade??? What a shame!!! I cannot use this. It is plain tacky.

Overall, I like January bag. The current strategy of reading the reviews and then ordering the bag is working for me.

June Vellvette Bag

I got my Vellvette box today... or should I call it bag?
This is my favourite box. Absolute favourite. The products fit me to a 'T'.

The products are packed in a fuchsia pink pouch. I love the funky pouch and will be carrying my daily make up in it.

Unveiling the products:
- LA Splash eye liner. It is black with small blue glitter
- Toni and Guy curl smoothing shampoo: I have permed my hair recently and this product is much appreciated for my curly hair
- Just Herbs Acne treatment kit: There is a face wash and 2 different face packs. My skin is going through major trauma due to the rains and I face a new pimple everyday... mostly, in the most obvious places.

Love this one.

March Vellvette Box

I have taken Saturday off and will not be in office from Wednesday to Sunday. I was hoping that the Vellvette box would arrive before then 'coz I didn't want to wait till April'13 for it.

And it arrived. Anyone who has subscribed for 3/6/12 months gets an extra product. I subscribed to 3 months.. wanted to go for 6 months but forgot.

Anyway-

100_0327

It contains:

- Clinique face wash

- Nyassa dry fruit soap

- NYX lip gloss

- Bonus products: Ofra acne treatment mask

Meji amino collagen

Meji amino collagen. Priced at Rs 1000 (approx), it has 7 sachets (one for each day of the week). They have to be added to any food/beverage and taken everyday. It will build collagen which help skin rejuvenate and glow. I will try it this week. If it works, I will review it. I checked reviews online and apparently it works... it is a huge deal in Japan... also, it was featured on Oprah. But it tastes yuck.

Nyassa vanilla dry fruit soap: Full size priced at Rs 400. It smells amazing. Will try it today.

100_0329

Clinique foaming cleanser: Full size priced at Rs 1200. It is creamy.. a little goes a long way. It also removes make up. Last night I applied make up and removed it with this face wash... all of it was washed off conveniently. Excellent.

100_0330

NYX lip gloss: I think it is a full sized pack. It is candy pink... it looks a little gaudy in the bottle (even for me) but it looks good when applied. I am happy to receive a make up product.

100_0333

Ofra acne treatment mask: Another product from Ofra... last time it was a toner. All toners feel the same to me. Now, a mask can definitely be reviewed. I tried it on last night... it is very, very thick and smells of Vicks vaporub. Hate the smell. It feels heavy on my skin. A thumbs down.

On ok box, overall.... Someone received a Lush product. Why don't I get Lush ever??? When I met the Vellvette box team my suggestion was that the brands should be the same for everyone... the products can change. Someone else received a Mary Kay foundation.

I like the NXY gloss and Clinique face wash.

Himalaya Purifying Neem Mask

Posted by Buls on 3:57 PM in , , ,
Another face mask review. I tend to buy a lot of masks- a different one for each day.  Everyone raves about Himayala neem products- face wash and mask. I decided to try the mask.

I do not like tea tree or even neem... hate the smell.

Neem mask cleanses and purifies for a clear, problem free skin. It has neem and turmeric. Neem is supposed to be good for acne prone skin and tumeric removes bacteria. It also has multani mitti. The MRP is Rs 65 for 50 gm.

The product is thick and dark green in color. It looks like slime and looks very ugly on drying. Getting it off is also a little difficult... and the smell... eeks.

I need a lot of product to cover my face since it is quite thick. The 50 gm was good was less than 10 uses which I think is less.

The mask dries fast which is a big positive. I did not see a reduction in acne (when I got 1 or 2 acne) and neither did it reduce oiliness. I generally compare any mask with mutani mitti which makes my skin tight, pores smaller and imperfections less visible. None of the masks match up to that. Definitely not this one.

Will I re-purchase? Nope... not even at that price.

Body Shop Tea Tree Mask

Posted by Buls on 3:10 PM in , , ,
I am back after a break and I have many reviews. Basically, I have finished a few products and before throwing away the empty containers I decided to review them.

I bought the Body Shop Tea Tree Mask 3-6 months back and have been using it since. I had visited the store looking for a mask for oily skin. The BA did not direct me correctly and I ended up buying this mask which is for acne prone skin. I was looking for something which would reduce the oiliness. The BAs of Body Shop are pathetic... they look so bored. I need to request them to try on foundations or make up... horrible.

The MRP is Rs 745 for 110 gm. The mask is green in color and dries fast - a very important aspect while buying the mask. I apply a mask on a daily basis and like it to dry fast since I don't have hours in the morning... 15 mins is all I have.

I generally apply a thin layer since a thicker one takes time to dry. But the mask does nothing for my skin. It does not prevent acne or dry them or remove oiliness.

Thats a problem with Body Shop products... they look good... they feel good... they smell good but they don't improve the skin texture or quality.

It took me almost 6 months to finish but I am glad its over.

Will I re-purchase? No ways...

Haul

Posted by Buls on 10:06 PM in , , , , , , , ,
Hiya... I have been away and so no posts. My digital camera has conked off... beyond repair. One moment it was good and next moment gone. I will buy a new one this weekend. Currently, I am using my hubby's camcorder so please bear with me. The pics are a little hazy.

After work I was quite bored and decided to visit the SelectCity walk mall. Below is the Lush haul. I bought the Body Shop products few days back.

Body Shop Peppermint Reviving Foot Soak: I have been using a shampoo as foot soak and decided to try this. There are not many options in the market for foot soak.

I have been looking for a good eye cream to prevent the puffiness, remove dark circles and fine lines. I picked this up from TBS.

It is part of the Nutriganics collection

I actually went to Lush to buy the full jar of the shower jelly and came across this. Dreamwash Shower Smoothie. It has talc and makes the skin soft and smooth.

I like to experiment with masks and don't mind paying more for them. I picked up Cupcake which has a chocolate scent. It is for oily skin.
